Pharmaceutical Studies on Inclusion Complex of Etilefrin with β-Cyclodextrin

Abstract
|
|
|
Inclustion complexes of etilefrin with B-cyclodextrin were prepared on purpose to enhance the solubility and chemical stability of etilefrin. The chemical stability and solubility of the complexes were examined by solubility method, accerelation test, and ultra-violet radiation test.
It was found that the solubility of the complexes was increased according to zero order kine-tics and the stability of the complexes was highly increased compared to etilefrin. Therefore, it is believed that the complex formation of etilefrin with B-cyclodextrin can be successfully ap-plied to the increase of chemical stability and solubility of etilefrin preparationa. Ultra-Violet radiation did not show any significant effect to the stability of etilefrin and its complexes with B-cyclodextrin. Assay of etilefrin was achieved by Ultraviolet spectrophotometry.
